Alan Skowron is an accomplished guitar performer and instructor in the Northern Colorado area. Alan has been a part of many groups over the years, such as the Wilson Winner Jazz Quintet, Monty Hogan Jazz Quartet, Dominant 7, Illusion, Albion Kross and others. He has been featured on many radio programs and is an active member of the Northern Colorado Classical Guitar Society.
Alan also is involved in the group, Alandave, featuring classical guitar and flute. This duo often colaborates with other instruments to create interesting chamber ensemble settings. Alan also is a classical guitar soloist.
Alan Skowron began his musical training learning piano using the Suzuki method. He then later began studying the guitar intensely. He studied both classical and rock guitar during high school and then attended Berklee Music College in Boston to study jazz guitar after graduation. Alan pursued the classical guitar in college and received a Master's degree in Music with an emphasis in classical guitar performance, in 1999 from Colorado State University. He has won several scholarships and awards for his musical performance ability.
Since that time, he has been actively teaching and performing in the Northern Colorado area. He continues to further his classical guitar training under the instruction of Masakazu Ito, a reputable classical guitarist, instructor, performer and composer of the Denver area.

Master of Arts in Music - emphasis in classical guitar performance (graduated from Colorado State University in 1999).

Berklee College of Music in Boston - attended a summer music workshop in 1990 (jazz, theory, composition etc.).

Studied with Alex Komodore of Denver while attending graduate school.

Studied with classical guitar virtuoso Masakazu Ito in Denver for the past 10 years.
